The bluesign® standard heads one step further than an eco-label. Due to the holistic approach of this industry standard, not only consumer safety is considered, but also other aspects including occupational health, water emission and air emission are taken into account.

Besides these important aspects, the principle of resource conservation plays a major role within the bluesign® standard. The independent bluesign® standard guarantees that the entire production chain only contains components and passes through processes that are harmless to people and the environment. It uses what is called “Input Stream Management” that views production as a series of steps that needs to be individually certified and monitored.

All manufacturing processes and chemistry must meet the bluesign standard for a finished product to bear the label bluesign®.

Pertex® Quantum Pro uses an ultra thin water resistant coating to provide increased weather resistance for extreme conditions.

By combining a tightly woven face fabric with a microporous coating, Pertex® Quantum Pro delivers a very high level of water resistance whilst remaining lightweight, soft and breathable.

The increased weather resistance and durable construction means these fabrics are ideal for use in cold or damp environments where keeping warm and dry is crucial.

Trangoworld® uses in its collection several varieties of down: “European goose down”, “European duck down”, “Goose down” and “Duck down”.

There are 2 important quality factors which determine down’s performance of a garment or a sleeping bag: one is the mixture of down and feather (“Mix ratio”) and the other one is the filling performance (“Fillpower”).

-“Mix ratio”: Information such as “98/2” means that the filling of a garment or a sleeping bag, has 98 % of down and 2 % of feathers. Down keeps better warmth than feathers. The higher the proportion of down compared to feathers is, the higher the insulation with the same fill weight will be.

-“Fillpower”: A “cuin” is the unit of measurement to test down performance in terms of filling and compression. The higher is the number of “cuins”, the higher the filling performance will be. The result is a product with better insulation.

The Responsible Down Standard aims to ensure that down and feathers come from animals that have not been subjected to an unnecessary harm. It is a meaningful way to incentivize practices that respect the humane treatment of ducks and geese, to drive demand for strong animal welfare practices.
