I was born in Ciudad Real and grew up there with my family — my parents and my two brothers — practicing conventional sports from an early age. But it was the mountains that ultimately captured me for good. I started climbing in La Mancha, opening many new routes. In that process, I discovered something there was no turning back from: the mountains were my passion. When I turned 20, I headed to Benasque “just to try it out”… and decades later, I’m still here in the valley.
My first steps were with the Scouts, learning knots, rappelling, and developing a love for spending entire days immersed in nature. Thanks to those people and those experiences, I do what I do today. Over time, I realized that every time I went back to the city, I was already looking forward to returning to the mountains. I understood that I’m truly happy in the mountains — climbing, jumping, or skiing.
In winter, I work full-time as a ski patroller and rescue technician at the Cerler ski resort, as well as an action photographer. When the snow melts, the camera takes center stage, and my work as a photographer becomes my main focus, combined with my mountain pursuits.
I actively equip new routes, especially dry tooling lines.
In 2002, I took part in an expedition to Shivling in the Indian Himalayas.
I’ve redpointed up to D12 in dry tooling and 8a in sport climbing.
I’ve opened some of the first BASE jumps in the Benasque Valley.
I’ve been working for 24 years as a ski patroller at Cerler ski resort.

After so many years, my greatest success is still enjoying every single day I go into the mountains. I don’t measure my happiness by achievements, but by the feeling each day of climbing, skiing, or jumping leaves in me.
On a personal level, there are moments I hold especially close: my first expedition to the Himalayas, seeing others climb and enjoy the routes I’ve created, realizing that my work as an action photographer has taken me to corners of the world I never imagined and allowed me to meet extraordinary people.
I’m not someone who makes big long-term plans. I just know I want to keep climbing, jumping, and skiing for as long as my body — full of scars and memories — allows me to.
For me, photography is a way of channeling all my creativity. Through it, I try to capture the energy, beauty, and rawness of alpinism, climbing, and skiing. From a sporting perspective, the mountains are my daily fuel — the gasoline that keeps my desire to live and to keep moving alive.

When I head to the mountains, I always bring… My camera.
If I wanted to introduce someone to the outdoor world, I would take them to… Any of the mountains in the Benasque Valley. I have no doubt that after seeing them, they’d be hooked for life.
When I’m not in the mountains, I’m… With my family, enjoying time together.
The most important thing the mountains have taught me is… That life is now. You have to enjoy the present moment, without dwelling too much on the past or obsessing over what’s to come.
A landscape or moment in the mountains I will never forget… I’ve experienced incredible landscapes all over the world, but I keep coming back to the sunsets of La Mancha. Your roots run deep, and that light remains unique.
