I was born in Zaragoza, where I grew up with my family and friends before moving to Huesca, closer to the mountains that I’m so passionate about. As a child, I attended summer camps, but it was in January 1999 that I discovered what would truly shape my life: ski mountaineering.
My friends Héctor Cuartero and Tito Gayarre took me on my first outing, and from that day on, I knew the mountains would hold an essential place in my life. Since then, every week became an opportunity to explore the Pyrenees, learn, progress, and feel part of nature.
I work as a pediatrician at Hospital San Jorge in Huesca — a profession I combine with my passion for the mountains and sharing knowledge through my blog and social media. I love being able to pass on what I learn on my routes, whether about meteorology or healthy lifestyle habits, especially on Instagram.
I wrote four volumes of ski touring routes covering the entire Aragonese Pyrenees, with over 20,000 copies sold.
26 years of ski mountaineering practice.
Running in the mountains at 54 with the same energy I had at 34.
Sharing meteorology through my blog and health habits through social media, especially Instagram.
Growing to 283,000 followers on Instagram — when just three years earlier I had fewer than 10,000.

Twenty-six years have passed since that first day on skis, and the mountains remain my point of balance. During this time, I published four volumes of “Rutas con Esquís” in the Aragonese Pyrenees — guidebooks that have become a reference, with more than 20,000 copies sold.
Balancing my work as a doctor with writing these guides was one of my greatest challenges — and at the same time, one of my greatest achievements. Earning my position as a pediatrician through public examination, continuing to grow as a ski mountaineer, and sharing knowledge about health and meteorology are among the most important milestones of my life.
At 54, I still run in the mountains with the same energy I had at 34. I want to remain just as active — taking care of my nutrition, relationships, and exercise — and above all, feeling young.
For me, the mountains are a return to the essentials. It’s where you feel truly alive, in sync with the cycles of the sun, wind, snow, and silence. A space where all the senses merge, and where I reconnect with what is most authentic.

When I head to the mountains, I always bring… Five eggs in my stomach — enough energy for the whole day. In winter, my skis; in summer, my running shoes. I drink from rivers, just like my dogs. The lighter you go, the farther you’ll reach.
If I wanted to introduce someone to the outdoors, I would… Start them with gentle ski touring routes, under the soft winter light, on an east- or south-facing slope — to feel both the warmth of the sun and the magic of the snow.
When I’m not in the mountains, I’m… Working as a pediatrician at Hospital San Jorge in Huesca or at home studying science or reading in the sun — always trying to stay aligned with the circadian rhythms of light and darkness.
The most important thing I’ve learned thanks to the mountains is… To respect the laws of nature and to know when to change the original plan if mountain or weather conditions aren’t what you expected when planning the route at home.
A landscape or moment in the mountains I will never forget… Ski outings at the edges of the day: at sunrise, at 5 a.m. in Tromsø (Norway), or at the very end of sunset, with the sun dipping below the horizon.
