"To achieve a goal at your limit, you have to enjoy the process, not just focus on the result"

Who I Am

Who I Am

I was born and raised in Murcia, alongside my parents and my sister. As a child, I was fascinated watching climbing on TV; I was drawn to the idea of overcoming obstacles, of moving across rock using nothing but your own body. At 12 years old, I decided to give it a try — and I quickly knew I had found something that would stay with me forever.

I joined the Scouts to spend more time in nature, and shortly after I bought some climbing gear. I taught my mother how to belay me and started practicing on my own. Soon I met other climbers at the gym and began heading out to the mountains with them. That’s how I discovered bouldering — and little by little, it became the center of my life.

From the very first route, I knew this was my passion. Today, my daily routine revolves around climbing: I work as a route setter at a climbing gym — Sputnik — and also at competitions. At the same time, I work as an engineer specializing in the design and structural calculation of climbing walls. And of course, I keep climbing as much as I can.

My Journey

Of all the projects I’ve sent, the one that demanded the most from me — and probably the most meaningful — is “Daños con-laterales” (8C+), in Murcia. It was the result of months of work, training, and perseverance. Beyond the grade, it was a learning experience: understanding that to reach such a demanding goal, you must enjoy the process and avoid obsessing over the result.

Over the years, I’ve managed to keep that passion for high-end bouldering alive, combining outdoor climbing, structured training, and travel. For me, every project is a new opportunity to learn, to know myself better, and to stay motivated.

My medium- and long-term goal is to continue enjoying climbing for many years to come — traveling the world, trying new boulders, and above all, staying injury-free. I have many projects pending, some between 8C and 9A, spread across different areas. But the most important thing is to keep the stoke and motivation intact.

Bouldering is my passion and my way of life. I can’t imagine a week without touching rock, without feeling its texture under my hands, without that moment of total focus that only climbing provides. The mountains are my refuge — the place where I reconnect with myself, where urgency disappears and everything comes down to a movement, a gesture, one more attempt.

My Outdoor Essence

When I head to the mountains, I always bring… A chalk bag and a brush.

If I wanted to introduce someone to climbing, I would take them to… Fontainebleau (France), a true paradise for climbers and the birthplace of modern bouldering.

When I’m not in the mountains, I’m… Setting new lines or exploring areas in search of new boulders.

The most important thing climbing has taught me is… Perseverance. Learning to keep trying, to fall and get back up again and again.

A landscape or moment I will never forget… The sunsets in Rocklands (South Africa) and in the Bosque de Piedras de Huayllay (Peru). Places where rock, light, and silence create an atmosphere that stays with you forever.
