Articles by Miguel y Daniel Oury

Daniel and Miguel Oury grew up in Viver, a small village in Castellón, surrounded by mountains, caves and nature. They always ran through the hills, climbed rocks and explored the caves of their area. The mountains were their natural environment from the very beginning.

In 2011 they joined their local sports club and began exploring every discipline they could. In 2015 they took a decisive step by taking part in the expedition to the Sima de la Cornisa, the second deepest cave in Spain and the tenth in the world, alongside some of the best speleologists of the time.

Since then they haven't stopped: canyoneering exploration expedition in the Nepalese Himalaya (2024), opening of winter canyons in Norway (2023), exploration and first climbing routes in Jamaica, and ascents to summits above 5,000 metres in Peru, among many other adventures.

Participants in the RTVE programme El Conquistador, where they proved that their values — camaraderie, honesty and mental strength — hold up outside the natural environment too. Their disciplines span canyoneering, speleology, mountaineering, ski mountaineering, climbing, ultra trail and MTB/gravel.

Their philosophy is as simple as it is radical: explore, share what they live and keep learning. So that others can discover and feel it too.
